Outing to RCYC
The most recent outing, organised by Nellian Bekker, saw 15 members walking around the yacht basin at the Royal Cape Yacht club on Saturday 17 October 2009.
Although the parking around the club is normally a problem, the eager photographers wre early enough to beat the sailers and took the best parking along the main access road. We were let in by a smiling desk manager at the fornt door.
The weather was overcast to start with. Later the day warmed up a little and at one stage the sun appeared for a short while to add to the opportunities to play around with light settings.
After a short intro by Nellian everyone made off on their own in alldifferent directions to go and look for that specail view that needs capturing. We were early enough to catch the basin without wind ripples on the water. It is a sailing club, but for a nice refelction wind can be a problem.
The yacht club also have a nice restaurant, looking out over the yachts, moored in the small craft basin. After dragging the cameras and tripods along for a good hour or two, most of the members stopped for welcome cupof coffee.
