January/February 2022 Cape Camera

km over a rough bouldery road to get there. Once there, we
discovered that we were the only occupants. Hiking was then
off the list of things to do because of the rugged terrain and
the fear of falling off the cliff as there was no trail to the bottom
of the canyon!! The nearest hospital must have been well over
100 km away and on gravel roads!! It was a forced rest before
tackling the drive home, which took us 12 hours and with very
few stops in between, except at the border - where we had our
          final negative Covid test!
Our trip again confirmed that the way to see Namibia is not
from the main B1 Highway, but to travel the excellent gravel
roads. The towns marked on the maps are often non-existent,
or so small it is hard to find a loaf of bread to buy. But, you will
always find an ice cold Namibian beer! For those who haven’t
been, Namibia it is one of the most beautiful countries, so put it
          on you bucket list!!
