                                             On The Cover

Our front cover image Maria by Hendrik Louw was one of the high-scoring im-
ages in our November Competition. Our club in Centurion organised a studio
workshop earlier this year. This lady was one of the models and had a very dis-
tinctive look for me from a certain angle. Something was needed to enhance this
innocent, yet a bit tense, look. No smiles. Just an intense, momentary, connec-
tion. I used this veil to try to enhance this atmosphere I wanted to create. It also
complimented her skin tones and eyes for me. I took quite a couple of shots from
various angles, but nothing seemed to work to the extent I wanted. Only when I
hid her slightly behind it, did everything suddenly fall in place. Just in time for me
to be chased off in order for the next person to have their turn. Gear and general
                                             settings: Nikon D7200 with 24 - 70mm. F8 at 1/125s and ISO 100.
