Set subject: Altered Reality

The judges for the competition were Lynne Kruger-Haye for the Set subject, and Erwin Kruger-Haye
for the Open subject. Both judges are founder members of the Ignite Photographic Club.

Winner PDI – Set (Salon) The Upward Scream by Antenie Carstens (25). A very unusual and excellently executed image in design and
colour choice with a fascinating story line that is both thought-provoking but also rather terrifying.

“It’s about reacting to what you see, hopefully without preconcep-
tion. You can find pictures anywhere. It’s simply a matter of notic-

ing things and organizing them. You just have to care about what’s

around you and have a concern with humanity and the human
comedy.”
