Winner PDI – Open
(Salon) Anticipation by
Jonathan Mark Burchell
(27). An attractive image
with lovely soft colours
and a pleasing composi-
tion that creates a desire
to find out where it was
taken and how to get
there. The person on the
bridge adds to the story.
The sky could be im-
proved with the use of a
gradient filter to give it
more contrast and colour.

Winner PDI – Open
(Advanced) Harmony
Park Sunset by Parama-
sivam Saravanakumar
(28). This image is very
striking with its intense
colours, different textures
and beautiful curves. The
long exposure shows off
movement in the clouds
which adds to the overall
effect of calm and still-
ness.

Winner PDI – Open (In-
termediate) Om en om en
om by Ansie du Toit (25).
The author used the Pep
Ventosa technique (shoot-
ing in the round) to create
this very attractive image.
The varying colours and
multiple curves of the hills
in the background are most
appealing and comple-
ment the centre position
of the tree. Suggest toning
down the sky slightly by us-
ing a gradient filter.
