Portraits by Kim Stevens
report by Steffne Hughes
Portrait photography is a blend of art and storytelling. It is
about going beneath the surface and capturing the essence
of a subject.
Portraits of people draw the viewer in as they have the chance
to explore the visage of another person without violating their
private space…and often see therein something of themselves.
In her presentation Kim Stevens will explore different types
of portraits and equipment needed to achieve these. She will
touch on forms of lighting and techniques and tips to achieve
your goals in capturing portraits, and will also refer to some of
the masters of portrait photography.
Kim's talk will be followed by an image evaluation discussion.
Please send your portraits for discussion to Lesley Parolis at
lesleyparolis@gmail.com by June 17th. Image by Kim Stevens.
