Winner PDI – Open (Master) Whirlwind by David Barnes (27).
The two postures of the figures complement each other well
- moving though gracefully and yet with determination! In this
particular case the thin red border works well, and the different
colours of white, brown and red complement each other.
Joint Winner PDI - Set (Advanced) Autumn Colour by Graeme
Walker (25). The leaf feels like it is falling and sharing its influ-
ence with its source at the same time. The textures are riveting.
The colour red well has been well-chosen.
Winner PDI – Open (Advanced) Duo by Theo Potgieter (27). The
selective colour works well here. It almost looks like aliens in the
lightbulbs, and the border reminiscent of the filaments in the
subject matter.
Winner PDI – Open (Intermediate) Quiet Bay by Jessica Nitschke
(22). A serene mood has been created through the use of a long
shutter speed technique. The steady piers anchor the moving
clouds and the fisherman (with his slight movement) provides a
transition between both!
Winner PDI – Open (Intermediate) We are all enjoying the
feast by Eric Decloedt (22). This image resolves any doubts
as to why leopards eat their meals in trees. The eye has a
route to follow and may rest as it chooses on any of the
three main elements. They seem to carry equal weight and
create a story with interest.
