Set subject: Camera on the ground
The judge for the competition was Tony Bramley FRPS from Colchester Photographic So-
ciety in the UK. The set subject was a theme that members found more challenging and
there were far less entries for it than usual. The judge rewarded the excellent images in the
competition with full marks of 30 in both the set subject and open category. A total of nine
images were given the top mark with David Barnes being awarded three, Kim Stevens and
Jean Bradshaw two each, and Jeanette du Toit and Ken van Wyk one each, reports LESLEY

Set Subject
Winner PDI – Set (Master) Grandads Google by David Barnes (30). An unusual piece of work using still life and realism to combine
into surrealism. The low viewpoint and use of perspective with the books, helps to add depth and a sense of place for the boy. I love
the use of the blues to compliment the overall tone of the image. Skillful work in post-production from the author.
