Common salon
mistakes
• More than three acceptances:
this can easily happen in a circuit,
where you could earn three ac-
ceptances in one salon. You not
only lose all points earned for
acceptances/awards after your
third acceptance, but you could
have earned points with an ac-
ceptance/award for another
image. Besides, a club member
might have earned the points
that are now forfeited.
• Changing a title: once you enter
an image title in PhotoVaultOn-
line (PVO), you may not change
any aspect of it ... not even add-
ing or deleting a number, or indi-
cating that it is mono or colour.
There is an Original Filename op-
tion in PVO, which is the title you
import from your computer. This
may contain numbers and other
indicators you included to distin-
guish the different versions of the
image on your computer. That is
allowed. The Title of the image
must, however, remain the same
in PVO, even if you loaded 10 of
the same image for print, mono
and colour.
• Not including Exif data: this is
a recent rule PSSA has adopted
for salons and it is also a require-
ment for international competi-
tions and salons. This enables
the salon director to verify that
the image originated in camera,
and not on the internet, and can
assist with verifying that an im-
age had not been entered twice.
