Arderne Gardens is a Provincial Heritage Site and home to one of the most diverse and
valuable collections of exotic trees in South Africa. It includes one of the largest trees
in the country, the Moreton Bay Fig (or Wedding Tree) and possibly the largest Aleppo
Pine in the world. These trees, plus four others, were designated Champion Trees in
2008 due to their age and size. Four of the Champion Trees remain.
