The Winjlands Motor Museum – always a huge challenge
The last photo shoot of 2020 was organised by Robert Maginely who had attached an AV challenge to those
who attended the outing. He had organised permission to stay after sunset to be able to do some light paint-
ing. Support for the outing was unfortunately not that great due to the general Covid scares, with only eight
members attending.
“On arrival we were greeted by one of the
representatives who gave us a bit of back-
ground and history about the place. He
surprised us with the information that they
regularly re-build cars for specific purposes,
such as a typical American police car that
was used in a recent movie that was shot
in Bellville; or a glamorous Rolls Royce that
is frequently hired out for wedding events.
We were also shown some work in progress - from a completely Photographs by Robert Maginely

Since our last visit a few years ago, the owners have added many “Half of the exhibits are cars from the 50s and 60s which are

Dieter Bütow was most impressed about the
owner of the car museum, Les Boshoff, having
accumulated such a vast range of vehicles on
display. “In some areas one may be under the
impression of being on a scrapyard, in other lo-
cations and halls we were faced with sparkling
vehicles of more recent vintage.
“We had the freedom of roaming around for a
