Winning images from November
Set subject: Action Photography
The judges for the competition were GB Jordaan and Christiaan Kotze from the AFO club in Preto-
ria, who alternated on images throughout both categories. There were many interesting interpre-
tations of the theme and a wide variety of subjects in motion presented, reports LESLEY PAROLIS.
Promotions
There were no promotions in November.
Entries in the monthly PSSA Competition were:

Winner PDI – Set (Master) Low Flying Medal winner at SAIBC by Joint Winner PDI – Set (Salon) Find your freedom by Amorien Van
Kim Stevens (28). No distraction in the background at all, the Heerden (28). The panning action was masterfully done and the
lighting was handled very well and the image is pin-sharp. An lighting is good. The face of the rider is sharp and the rest is
outstanding picture. nicely blurred out. It is a very good picture that depicts excel-
lent movement.
Joint Winner PDI – Set (Salon) Explosive energy by Joan Ward
(28). The diagonal line that the dancer’s legs create, and the fact Winner PDI – Set (Advanced) Chase the light by Michael Pace
that she appears to be screaming and the position of her hands (29). A very striking image because of the drama it captures in
make this a great image, with no distractions in the background. the sky and the clouds. However, it would have been nice to see
the faces of the people and some indication where the para-
chute was.
