Winning images from February
Set subject: Abstract Photography
The set subject was enthusiastically supported by members and some very creative abstract
images were entered. It was very heartening to note that significantly more than half of
the total images entered were in this category because it shows that we love to be creative
in our photography at CTPS. The judge for the Set Subject was Charlotte Bellamy from The
Netherlands and Lynne Kruger-Haye from Tygerberg Photographic Society judged the Open
section, comments LESLEY PAROLIS.

Set Subject
Joint Winner PDI – Set (Master) Lines in the sand by Kim Stevens (30). This is a beautiful, creative, interesting abstract. It is beautifully
exposed and has a well thought out composition, with interest throughout the whole image. I love the range of tones from the
deep blacks through to the bright whites. As I look at this image I find my eye wandering over each contour, noticing new things
each time. I know If I saw this in a gallery I would be mesmerised. As an abstract image it meets the brief perfectly – my mind is left
to decide what it might be, which opens up a wonderful world of imagination.end of the concrete pier. The blue hour light and
colour in the sky round of an excellent image.
