The latest big change in photography, artificial intelligence (AI)
is no longer just a discussion, but is making an appearance in
major competitions. This led to a lot of controversy when an AI
generated image was the winner of the creative category in the
prestigious 2023 Sony World Photography Awards. The creator
Boris Eldagsen did not accept the award as he said it is not a
photograph.
Please let me have your comments. It may be interesting to
publish it in a future Cape Camera. More of Eldagsen’s images
can be seen at https://www.eldagsen.com/pseudomnesia/
