of website competition
Congratulations to Michele-Ann for winning one of the top 3
spots in the PSSA April website competition. Her lovely image
titled Early Morning Pose (below) was the 1st Runner-up in the
month’s competition open to all PSSA members.
While this image also got a high score when she entered it in the
March CTPS monthly competition, she entered the PSSA com-
petition as a member of her primary club, Creative Camera Club
(CCC). Another CTPS member who enters under CCC, Theo Pot-
gieter, got the second highest score in the Western Cape (WC) in

by Amanda Botha, presenter of the FMR programme Boek-
keuse, about her book Boer en Brit Seil Saam. As explained in
the April 2023 issue of Cape Camera, this book tells the story of
the unique courtship and wedding of Elmara and Lionel (also
a CTPS member) whilst sailing across the Atlantic. In between
are many fascinating facts about the islands they visited, how
she learnt to sail and navigate and life on board a yacht, told
by Elmara in lively, chatty letters to friends and family, as well
as diary entries. Copies of Elmara’s book (in Afrikaans) can be
ordered from her on WhatsApp (083 417 1422). The photo of
Elmara and Amanda in the studio was taken by Lionel Willis.
