Winner Print – Open (Intermediate): Capturing the early morning light by Mike Stricker
(20). I enjoy the triangle created between the tree in the foreground, the photographer and
the rolling mountains in the back; together with the beautiful morning light that makes for
a good landscape image. Unfortunately, the composition is a bit half-half with a very bland
sky taking up nearly half of the image. In composing it might have been worthwhile to step
a little bit further back so that you can get the tree in better, shoot from a lower angle and
crop your sky to a minimum giving you hopefully a stronger composition.
