Winner Print – Set (Salon): Gigolo on the prowl by David Barnes (27). A lonely wolf out at night strolling
down the road looking for victims; but there are none! The central composition and strong lead-in lines
from the shops help draw your eye into the image creating a feeling of depth. The reflections in the sun-
glasses with the interplay of light and shadow creates a strong focus point. To further improve this image,
remove the red light on his shoulder. I am however missing other people in the image.

Winner Print – Set (Advanced): Fishing nets at twilight by Joyce Goldschmidt (26). Sometimes we strive
for simplicity but sometimes that can be too simple, so I enjoy the busyness and the silhouettes. The
interplay of the warm and cool colours and the contrast between the smooth and ruffled water all adds
interest. The row of nets in the top left-hand corner adds to the story telling; this isn't just a single stand
of nets they're probably multiple systems along the beach. It’s difficult to say if a tighter crop would work
better. There are many more images here, some more abstract than others, but as presented it’s a techni-
cally well-handled image.
