PSSA Junior entry and Winner Set– Open (Intermediate): Ghent in all its Glory by Ruth Scholtz (28).
This is a beautiful architectural image. It’s well composed with a strong lead-in along the quayside to the small
bridge on the righthand side. It's a perfect evening so the reflections are quite beautiful. The dark sky and re-
lated reflection tend to hold your eye in the photograph. The luminosity in the building is sufficient to see the
detail and the patterns. It is a beautifully produced print

Below are the winners in the Set Subject category with the judges' comments.

Winner PDI - Set (Salon): Valencia at night by Richard Goldschmidt (28). The triangular and curved shapes
together with the strong reflection on the water helps with shaping this architectural shot. The red lights pull
your eye into the scene. The exposure and blue hour are well captured, and it speaks directly to the set sub-
ject. The well-lit scene helped the photographer, but he/she did find the right angles to create the compelling
composition.
