Set subject: Street Photography

The judges for January were Peter Brandt for the Set subject PDIs and all prints and Evelyn Gib-
son Hon PSSA, FPSSA, APSSA(Vers), EPSSA(Mille-Platinum), SPSSA, EFIAP, SPSA, ARPS for the Open
PDIs. Peter Brandt is an experienced judge, who chairs the Fish Hoek Photographic Society judging

panel, and is an accredited JAP judge. Evelyn has been a long-term member of the PSSA Honours
Judging Panel and is PSSA PRO.

Entries in the monthly PSSA Competition:

The Senior Entry for January was Spokes by Kim Stevens; and the Junior Entry was Flying
High by Gavin Klevansky. See more on p4

PSSA Senior entry and winner PDI– Set (Master) Spokes by Kim Stevens (28). An interesting ti-
tle for a fascinating image. It is an excellent architectural image that is pin sharp, very well exposed,
and superbly treated during post-production. The single, but very prominent cyclist in the image,
might just add sufficient weight to include it in the category of street photography — but this is
open for discussion.
