Winner PDI – Open (Salon) Washing by Jean Bradshaw (30). This
is an excellent piece of photo art that has such a strong story
about the communities living around the coast of South Africa.
The excellent processing gives it a real arty feeling without de-
tracting from the story.
Joint Winner PDI – Set (Advanced) Opening or Closing by Anna
Morris (24). It is often the simple images that have the most im-
pact. The placement of the hand breaks all the patterns and is
therefore very effective in the composition - as it should be.
Winner PDI – Open (Intermediate) Tending Pigeons by Jessica
Nitschke (28). A very good image, where the mono conversion
was well used to provide a focal point. The two people in the
centre add some calm and order to the general chaos created
by the birds.
JJoint Winner PDI – Set (Master) Three doors three histories by
Lesley Parolis (26). This image is all about texture. The light is
perfect and very subtle. The different shapes, textures and col-
ours of the doors tell their own story.
Joint Winner PDI – Open (Advanced) Sky and sea by Jenny Mor-
kel (26). This is a very pleasing and soft image that will look
good hanging on any wall. It has an arty feel to it and invites
the viewer to linger.
