Judge Steffne Hughes commented: "Lovely composition and taken at the right time and at the height of the
drama. A pin-sharp and beautiful image."
Lesley Parolis comments: "The image, from an excerpt from the ballet Carmen, was taken at the Artscape
theatre during a Gala Ballet performance. I selected this image for the set subject Moods and Emotion because
of the very strong emotions portrayed in this ballet rendition of the opera Carmen.
The settings were: Nikon Z9, 70-200 mm lens at 104mm, F2.8, ISO 4000, 1/500s, Exposure compensation -0,67,
centre weighted metering. The image was processed using the DXO PureRaw4 raw processor and then further
processed in Adobe Lightroom and finished in Adobe Photoshop."

the minimalism
genre. Beautiful
clean lines and
perfect reflec-
tions. Excellent
positioning of
the tall pylon
on the left with
diminishing ones
leading into the
distance. An
excellent slow
shutter speed
picture that gives
a lovely feeling of
tranquillity.
