CTPS PDI and Print Salon

Over the past few years, salon participation has grown signifi-
cantly among CTPS members. For example, at the end of the
2019-2020 Impala year, CTPS was 24th overall and 2nd in the
Western Cape – more than 500 points behind Western Cape
frontrunner Tygerberg. Then, 12 members actively participated CTPS Bronze Medal & COM (Open Colour)
in salons. The previous year only 9 members participated in sa- Chilean Flamingo by Dieter Butow
lons. About a decade ago, salons were very low on the radar for
most club members – with the exception of Jeanette du Toit, Member Rustenburg Salon GIP Cup **
Chris Coetzee, Nicol du Toit and Neels Beyers, hardly any mem-
bers entered salons. Now, there are at least 18 regular entrants. Acc COMs Acc
Good news is that this salon enthusiasm seems to be continu-
ing. In the subsequent salon – Rustenburg PDI – CTPS received Crighton Klassen 6
44 awards, far ahead of other Western Cape clubs who got 21 Dieter Butow 9 2 15
(Tygerberg), 17 (Hermanus), 15 (Paarl), 14 (Tafelberg) and 11

Several factors, no doubt, contributed to the growing interest in Jeanette du Toit 5
salon participation among CTPS members: regular publishing
of acceptances and awards in Cape Camera; the salon advice Karyn Parisi 2
group Nicol du Toit launched for members; the introduction of Kim Stevens 9 1
new salon acceptances as a qualification for Master status, etc.
But, as the popular quote warns: you are only as good as your Lambe Parolis 4
last performance. So keep up the good work and enter in the Neels Beyers 1 12
remaining salons to help us stay in the top position in the West- Nicol du Toit 1 1
ern Cape.
* Clubs compete in the Premier Club Competition, where the Paul-Boer Putter 1
best performing club overall receives a trophy. The winning Peter Turnbull 6
club in each region as well as the best performance by a mem-

name. PSSA won this international competition with 94 accept-
