May 2023 Cape Camera

Winning images from May

Set subject: Wildlife

The judges for the competition were Kim Stevens for the Set Subject images in both PDI & Print
and Fransonette Swart from Tafelberg Photographic Club for the Open category images in PDI
& Print. We are very grateful to Kim for stepping in at the last minute to take over the judging
from our appointed judge, Christo Gilliomee, who was involved in a motor vehicle accident on
his way to the hall. Fortunately Chisto was unharmed and has promised to judge for us later in
the year.

Promotions
Congratulations to Charles Booysen who was promoted to Intermediate this month

Entries into the monthly PSSA Competition:

The Senior Entry for May was The three musketeers by Nicol du Toit and the Junior Entry
was Colours over the Castle by Charles Booysen

Below are the winners in the Set Subject category with the judges' comments..

Winner PDI – Set (Master) The three musketeers by Nicol du Toit (29). This is a good example of when luck and skill come together in
a happy union to create a winning image. The amber eyes of the cheetah in the centre captivate the viewers which draws them in
to enjoy the rest of the scene. The reflections in the water complete the scene and the uncluttered background allows the subjects
to shine!
