Winner PDI – Set (Beginner) Stranded by Johan Walden (24). I
enjoy the aerial perspective in this image and I love the shape
of the central rock being completely surrounded by the sea. The
rock is festooned with seals and cormorants, outlined by the
guano – tiny from above but plentiful to give us a great story
about their environment. The image is a little underexposed
and monotonal which is easily rectifiable by some judicious
dodging and burning.

Winner Print – Set (Intermediate) Chewing the Cud
by Mike Stricker (21). A nice portrait of a sable to highlight
its lovely facial markings. These animals have magnificent
sabre-like horns and for me, I would have liked to see
those as well? The DOF field could have been improved
to show details in the nose and muzzle. Keep on printing
to show off your work and see the progress in your pho-
tographic journey!
