Winner PDI – Open (Master) Dusty Jackal by Theo Potgieter (26). The lovely soft background, which indicates a misty day or a dust
storm, lets the Jackal stand out. Making eye contact with the viewer adds to the impact of the image and so does the beautiful
contrast between the strong texture in front and the hazy background. An excellent image.
Winner PDI - Open (Intermediate) Tankwa Vistas by Mike Stricker (24). Creating a panoramic vista works very well here. There are
lovely textures in the foreground, middle and background and the heavy clouds at the top add a dramatic feel to it. Including a
person in the middle of the scene gives perspective and scale to the image.
