PSSA Junior entry and Winner Open— (Beginner): Bugs munching Squirrel by
Tom Gosh (26). An exquisite image showing off great details on the face and fur of the
little creature. It is well composed and exposed. The excellent sharpness and a soft back-
ground together with a certain cuteness effect make this a highly appealing image.
Below are the winners in the Set Subject category with the judges' comments.
Winner PDI – Set (Salon) Lady Sugar Bird by Dave Gordon (25). To take a pic-
ture of this quality the photographer needs to be knowledgeable about a bird’s
habitat and behaviour. The background is completely out of focus and so are the
flowers on the left which make the viewer concentrate on the main subject which
is beautifully sharp and very well exposed and perfectly placed in the image.
