Joint winner PDI – Set (Advanced) Springtime in Quiver Tree Land by Brian Jones (23). The author was obviously at-
tracted by a landscape that is normally very dry and ordinary looking. The quiver tree is beautifully sharp but the rest
and in particular the flowers and the background are not, all due to a very shallow depth of field. Usually a picture of
this kind should be sharp from the front and right the way through.

Joint winner PDI - Set (Advanced)
Who am I by Lionel Willis (23). The bird
is sitting in an environment of compli-
mentary colours which is very attrac-
tive. The image is sharp in front and falls
off towards the back which shows good
depth of field. The exposure is well han-
dled except for a slight blow-out on the
shoulder of the bird.
