Cape Camera October 2023

Winner Print – Set (Intermediate) Carpet of God by Liesl Walden (23). The charming aspect of this image is the
single flower in the middle which is sharp and isolated from the rest. Although it shows excellent use of depth of field
and good composition, it lacks contrast and feels slightly washed out.

Winners in the Open category

Winner PDI – Open (Master) and PSSA Senior entry Stormy Tsitsikamma by Jacoba van Zyl (26). This image is a
master class in composition. The vertical lines of the rock shelves are perfectly balanced by the horizontal lines of
sea and sky. The perfectly handled long exposure accentuates the calmness in the water and the drama in the sky.
Beautiful moody colours and great details in the rocks.
