Winner Print – Set (Intermediate) Trio on the Hunt by Melanie Black (22). A great sighting of three
cheetahs walking next to each other and in synchrony. Because they are all overlapping, except for the
front one, this results in a lack of distinguishable details of body forms. The image is also not very sharp,
but the conversion to Mono was very well handled with excellent textures and tonal variations.

Below are the winners in the Open Subject category with the judges' comments.

Winner PDI – Open (Master) Catch
of the Day by Michele-Ann Nel (27). An ex-
cellent action shot with one Jackal’s paw
off the ground and the bird still appearing
to be alive. It contains all the elements of a
great wildlife image with perfect sharpness
and depth of field. Suggest toning down the
background slightly.
