Winner PDI - Open (Beginner) Spring Season Bonnievale by Sagren Padayachee (25).

Francois Oosthuysen commented: A good example how a portrait format can also work well for land-
scape images. A very well composed image with excellent depth of field. The beautiful visual details
would also work very well in a landscape format.
In the PSSA May Junior Club Competition the image was awarded a score of 32 out of 45 by the judges.

Below are the winners in the Set Subject category. Anna Engelhardt summarised the
judges' comments and Dave Gordon obtained comments from the authors.

Winner PDI - Set (Advanced) Ladakh the Thirksey Monastery by Roger Trythall (25).
Kyle Goetsch commented: Good composition and layering. Suggest slight darkening of the sky to
keep the eye centered, which would help with the colour balance and the warming of the foreground.
Roger Trythall commented: The photo was taken en route to the snow leopard camp in Ladakh. The
monastery is one of the largest monastery complexes in Ladakh and is notable for its Buddhist Murals,
sculptures and manuscripts. It dates back to 1433.
