Winner PDI - Set (Advanced) Panning Giant Petrel by Charlene Naude (24).

Francois du Bois commented: An excellent panning shot of a special bird that is pinsharp. The outstretched wings
emphasizes the diagonal lines of the space surrounding the subject. The beautiful blue colour of the water adds to
the overall impact.
Charlene Naude explains: I was fortunate enough to go on a cruise to Marion Island where we were close enough
to these incredible birds flying past the ship.
Nikon D850, Sigma 60-600mm Sport lens, 1/1600, Exposure was -1, and Aperture was 5. The movement of the
ship and a faster shutter gave the panning effect.

Winner Print – Set (Master) Don’t stop me now by David Barnes (25).
Francois du Bois commented: A superb image that is perfectly handled from exposure to sharpness to storytelling.
It missed out, however, on getting a top score because of the absence of any propeller movement.
David Barnes explains: I shot this image at the Robertson airfield in the morning sun. I was standing on the north
side of the runway.
Canon R6. 77mm, f13, 1/200 sec, ISO 100.
